The Nominations

• ELIGIBILITY TO NOMINATE

  The general public is eligible to nominate potential award winners in each sector. Both self-nominations and third party nominations are allowed. However each person is only allowed one set of nominations in which the person nominates ONE person for each sector. In the event that multiple sets of nominations are made by one person all of those nominations would be disqualified.

• SELECTION PROCESS

  The following comprehensive process will be used to assess all nominations and thus determine the award winners. This is to ensure the integrity of the awards selection process, and consequently the credibility of the awards. The selection process will comprise the following stages:
  
  1. Nominations will be invited from the African public;
  
  2. The nominations will be received and any clarifications and/or adjustments to the format used by, or on behalf of nominees will be sought by the organizers and presented by the nominees or their agents;
  
  3. Nominations will be examined to ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria;
  
  4. The nominations that meet the eligibility criteria will then be authenticated by our contracted team of researchers to confirm claims made in the nominations;
  
  5. Where information contained in a nomination is found to be deliberately falsified, the nominee would be automatically disqualified. This is to ensure the integrity of the awards selection process, and consequently the credibility of the awards.
  
  6. Independent research on nominees will be comprehensively conducted by our contracted team of researchers
  
  7. A specially constituted team of Award Assessment Jurors will then assess each nomination and our independently conducted research against the assessment criteria, using the qualitative performance assessment model provided them.
  
  8. The Awards Jury will then meet over several sessions to consider each shortlisted nominee. Where a member is unable to join meetings either for technical reasons or for reason of unavailability due to acceptable cause, that member will forward his or her inputs virtually into the considerations to the meetings of the Jury;
  
  9. Influenced by the group discussions each juror will then score each shortlisted nominee on each criterion, using the scoring model derived from the Selection Criteria Section of this Concept Framework.
  
  10. Our dedicated research consultants will then compute each nominee’s total scores to determine the awardees in each broad category. The computations will be cross checked for their accuracy and verified by the secretariat established for the award scheme the organizers.
  
  11) In the event of a tie for the final position in any broad segment delineated for the purpose of these awards to ensure a wide spread socio-economic activities, the awardee selected will be decided by the Awards Jurors guided by the desire for inclusiveness which for the purposes of this awards scheme would favour minorities with regard to gender, religious affiliation or country/ethnic group.

• NOMINATION COSTS

  There are no costs whatsoever for entering nominations. Nominations are completely free of charge.

• NOMINATION TIMELINES & PROCEDURE

  Nominations open on Monday, 23RD January 2026 and closes on Friday, February 6. This makes for a two week window for entering nominations.
